Casuarina's newer beachfront homes and Cudgen's farms and acreage need quite different systems. Coastal homes need equipment that copes with salt air, while rural properties often suit larger systems on sheds or outbuildings. We design each one around the property in front of us. Every one of our solar panel installations, Casuarina & Cudgen included, is designed, installed and commissioned by our team.
Solar in Casuarina: rebates & network connection
Most solar panel installations, Casuarina included, qualify for Small-scale Technology Certificates (STCs) under the federal Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme, which typically cuts around 30% off the upfront cost of a new system as an instant point-of-sale discount rather than a rebate you claim later. Casuarina falls in STC Zone 3, and like the rest of the scheme the certificate value steps down every year on the way to a full phase-out by 2030 — so a system installed today earns more certificates than the same system installed in a couple of years, all else equal.
Casuarina is connected to the Essential Energy network, and we lodge your connection application directly with them as part of the installation, so there's no separate paperwork on your end. Because the exact STC value depends on your system size and the certificate price on the day, we show it as a line item on your actual quote rather than a generic estimate — rebate rules do change, so we always confirm current eligibility before you commit.
Homeowners in Casuarina may be eligible for the federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program, which has applied to eligible battery installations between 5 and 100kWh since 1 July 2025. It works the same way as the solar STC scheme — it generates certificates that reduce your battery's upfront cost as an instant discount, rather than a rebate you claim after the fact, with the exact figure depending on your battery's capacity and the certificate price on the day.
If you're adding a battery to an existing solar system, that system may still be earning STCs of its own on top. Casuarina sits on the Essential Energy network, and we handle the connection paperwork for the battery as part of the installation. Because program details and certificate values can change, we confirm your current eligibility and show the exact discount on your itemised quote before you commit to anything.

Yes. Before your solar installation begins, we tell you how much your system should produce based on your roof, panel orientation and local sun hours. If it materially underperforms because of our design or installation, we fix it at our cost, including adding more panels if that’s what’s needed.
Casuarina is on the Essential Energy network. We lodge your solar or battery connection application with Essential Energy as part of the installation, so there’s no separate paperwork for you.
Most solar systems in Casuarina qualify for STCs (STC Zone 3), applied as an upfront discount. Eligible batteries may also qualify for the federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program. Because certificate values change, we confirm your eligibility and show the exact discount on your quote.
Yes. Many Cudgen properties have large sheds that suit bigger solar systems. We assess the roof structure, cable run and switchboard capacity, and design the system around your property’s total usage.
Often, yes. We first check your existing inverter, solar capacity, switchboard and monitoring to work out the best way to add storage, and explain exactly what the battery will and won’t back up during an outage.
Around 20 minutes south of our Tweed Heads West base. Site visits, installation days and after-sales support are all handled by our own team, not subcontractors.
Yes. Casuarina is in NSW, where we’re an authorised ASP Level 2 provider, so we can also handle new connections, service mains and disconnect/reconnect work on the Essential Energy network. See our Level 2 page.
