From freestanding houses to multi-unit buildings, Surfers Paradise properties vary widely, so every solar and battery system JA Electrical & Solar designs here starts with a proper assessment of your roof, shading and usage.
Every system is individually designed, professionally installed and backed by ongoing local support from our Tweed Heads West team.

Surfers Paradise properties vary widely — from freestanding houses to multi-unit buildings — and we assess each on its own roof structure, shading and usage pattern rather than applying a one-size-fits-all quote. Our team handles body corporate documentation where it's needed, on top of the standard network approvals. Every one of our solar panel installations, Surfers Paradise included, is designed, installed and commissioned by our team.
Solar in Surfers Paradise: rebates & network connection
Most solar panel installations, Surfers Paradise included, qualify for Small-scale Technology Certificates (STCs) under the federal Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme, which typically cuts around 30% off the upfront cost of a new system as an instant point-of-sale discount rather than a rebate you claim later. Surfers Paradise falls in STC Zone 3, and like the rest of the scheme the certificate value steps down every year on the way to a full phase-out by 2030 — so a system installed today earns more certificates than the same system installed in a couple of years, all else equal.
Surfers Paradise is connected to the Energex network, and we lodge your connection application directly with them as part of the installation, so there's no separate paperwork on your end. Because the exact STC value depends on your system size and the certificate price on the day, we show it as a line item on your actual quote rather than a generic estimate — rebate rules do change, so we always confirm current eligibility before you commit.
Homeowners in Surfers Paradise may be eligible for the federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program, which has applied to eligible battery installations between 5 and 100kWh since 1 July 2025. It works the same way as the solar STC scheme — it generates certificates that reduce your battery's upfront cost as an instant discount, rather than a rebate you claim after the fact, with the exact figure depending on your battery's capacity and the certificate price on the day.
If you're adding a battery to an existing solar system, that system may still be earning STCs of its own on top. Surfers Paradise sits on the Energex network, and we handle the connection paperwork for the battery as part of the installation. Because program details and certificate values can change, we confirm your current eligibility and show the exact discount on your itemised quote before you commit to anything.

Yes. Before your solar installation begins, we tell you how much your system should produce based on your roof, panel orientation and local sun hours. If it materially underperforms because of our design or installation, we fix it at our cost, including adding more panels if that’s what’s needed.

It depends on the building. Strata properties need body corporate approval, and roof space is often shared, so we assess what’s practical and provide the documentation your body corporate needs before any work is planned.
Often, yes. We first check your existing inverter, solar capacity, switchboard and monitoring to work out the best way to add storage, and explain exactly what the battery will and won’t back up during an outage.
